Off-campus housing is available, but both universities strongly recommend that students live in ANU dormitories and have no responsibility or support for off-campus accommodation. In fact, it is very difficult for international students to secure accommodation in Australia. If you are unable to secure accommodation, you will have to return to Japan, making it difficult for you to continue your Dual Degree Program. To avoid this, the ANU requires all students to apply for ANU accommodation, whether or not you plan to live off-campus.
In addition, it is not possible to apply for ANU accommodations after the deadline. Details will be provided at the Pre-departure guidance session, and application must be made afterward. When your application is accepted, you will receive an offer from the ANU Accommodation and you will have 48 hours to accept the offer. If you do not accept, you will be deemed to have declined the offer and your application will be cancelled and cannot be reversed. Please contact the ANU Accommodation directly at uni.accom@anu.edu.au as the GLA Office cannot respond to enquiries about ANU accommodation.
If you still wish to live off-campus, please see the following website for your reference.
