YES. Ritsumeikan University requires all study abroad programs to be covered by comprehensive travel insurance specified by the University for risk management purposes. Hence, purchasing the insurance is a MUST for this program. You should purchase two insurances, OSHC and RU designated Travel Insurance. OSHC is insurance mandated for all students by the Australian Government, and it is one of the necessary documents for applying for a student visa. RU designated Travel Insurance is insurance mandated by RU to cover other incidents/accidents/liabilities that OSHC does not cover (with exceptions) and minimize risks.
